My parents and I left London on the same flight to Singapore arriving early afternoon. Once we stepped out of the airport I quickly came to the realisation that I was no longer in cold english weather but in a tropical climate. The drive from the aiport to the hotel was an eye opener looking at the city sklyine and well maintained gardens. We spent the afternoon getting our bearings and looking around the city. At night we went and checked out Singapores second biggest shopping centres which contained the worlds largest water fountain inside it.
Early next morning we hopped in an old traditional Singapore style boat for a river cruise out to the harbour for great photos of the city skyline. In the afternoon we went to the famous Singapore Zoo and was it what, by far the best Zoo we've been to! After a long hot afternoon of watching shows around the Zoo it was time to check out the night safari. We were lucky enough to be there in the month of October which meant they had a special Halloween tour with people trying to scare you while you looked at the animals in the dark (more for the kids), a good laugh although the night safari we thought was a real let down.
The next morning we went for a ride on an amphibious boat to take in more views of the famous merlion, Singapore flyer and city skyline. On to Sentosa Island for the rest of the day which is a definet must see for anyone going to Singapore as its a nice beach get away from the city. That night we watched the most impressive lazer light water show, check out the photos.
The good times catching up with my parents had to come to an end and saying goodbye again was harder than ever. I was off to Perth the next day and my parents were off to Thailand for a couple of weeks to relax after their huge holiday in Europe.
