Australia - Sydney 21.08.09
Boys long weekend in Sydney for the second Bledisloe cup game of 2009, All Blacks win 19-18 in a nerve racking game right till the final whistle.
I decided to fly in to Sydney from Perth early on Friday arriving at 7am in the morning and was greeted at the aiport by my cousin Anna who I hadn't seen in 2 years. In the morning we walked down to her local beach 'Bondi' and ventured around the bays nearby taking in its famous landscape. Afterwards we hopped on a train in to the heart of the city where we had lunch at Darling Harbour and wandered through the Chinese Garden Of Friendship. Later on in the afternoon when it started to heat up we took a ferry to Circular Quay to Opera bar for a few drinks right outside the opera house which was perfect for a few great snaps!
Saturday started with a much needed big breakfast after a big night out drinking with the boys in Manly and going for a surf at Manly beach. Drinking started early in the afternoon in preperation for the big game ahead. The Chrysler limo picked us up at 6pm and after drinking champagne for two hours in the limo we were well on our way to watch the All Blacks take on the Aussies for the Bledisloe Cup decider.
The stadium was alive with 80,000+ people cheering and getting in to the spirit of things. It was a stressful game to watch, only one try was scored by Ma A Nonu. To see the the All Blacks beat the Aussies in Sydney was a day I will never forget.
Falling back in to the limo we headed back to Manly for more pubbing/clubbing and later on to The Cross in the city.
We spent Sunday relaxing on Manly beach in the hot winter weather and drinking more booze at various bars.
Monday I said goodbye to the the boys early and headed off on a Manly ferry back to the City to meat up with Rehua (cousins fiancee) for lunch. After lunch I decided to face my fears and head up the Sky Tower to have a look around even though it wasn't the best of weather it was still a great view of Sydney.
